The event

In the early hours of 24 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine, marking an escalation in the Russo-Ukrainian War which had begun in 2014 with the annexation of Crimea.

As the eyes of the world continue to be fixed on Ukraine, General Sir Adrian Bradshaw shares his unique security perspective on the conflict that heralds a turning point in relations between Russia and Nato.

The speaker

General Sir Adrian Bradshaw has an esteemed military background. He was commissioned into the 14th/20th King’s Hussars in 1980, served in Armour, Helicopters and Special Forces, and commanded the King’s Royal Hussars, 7th Armoured Brigade and the 1st (UK) Armoured Division. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Nato’s Deputy Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.

General Bradshaw is Chairman of Blesma, the charity for limbless ex-service members. He is Colonel of the Regiment of The King’s Royal Hussars and Honorary Colonel of the Artist’s Rifles. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and lectures at King’s College London and in other venues on Defence strategy.

General Bradshaw is also the Governor of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
