The event
This guided tour of Chelsea’s rock ‘n’ roll history offers gritty insights worthy of any music lover’s attention.
Explore the sites of influential boutiques like Granny Takes a Trip and Mary Quant’s Bazaar that inspired the music scene of the swinging ’60s, as well as the Kings Road hangouts where the Sex Pistols were formed, and the hotel used by the Beatles as their London base.
The tour starts at the info point at Chelsea Gate and ends near the junction of Edith Grove and Kings Road (nearest tube Fulham Broadway). It will last about two hours.
The guide
Richard Porter is a professional tour guide and author of Guide to the Beatles London. Over the last 30 years, he has taken more than 180,000 people on his tours. Rave reviews have led him to featuring on Sky News, BBC Breakfast News, and BBC London.
Richard was also a regular contributor to the former Revolver magazine and was editor of the London Beatles Fanclub magazine, Off the Beatle Track.
