About the event
While the Holocaust is much-discussed, many aspects of its history have been overlooked and misunderstood. Join expert Dan Stone as he presents a new perspective, demonstrating the full impact of the Holocaust across Europe, from the Second World War to present day.
Stone will reveal how almost half of all Holocaust victims were killed outside of concentration camps, meeting their fate in ghettos or in their homes. He will show how people across Europe collaborated with Nazi efforts to eradicate the Jewish population. He will also reflect on the widely held beliefs in eugenics that informed Nazi ideology and continue to proliferate to this day.
About the speaker
Dan Stone is Professor of Modern History and Director of the Holocaust Research Institute at Royal Holloway, University of London. He is the author or editor of numerous academic articles and books, including Histories of the Holocaust and The Liberation of the Camps.
