The event
Wander down our History Street and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of the past. One minute you’ll be chatting with a Roman, the next you’ll be talking to a soldier from the Great War.
Train in medieval combat at our Plantagenet-period Sword School before travelling down the street to meet Tudors, Georgians and soldiers of the First and Second World Wars.
Head to Discovery Row, where you’ll meet people committed to sharing history and upholding traditions. Staff and veterans from Waterloo Uncovered will be talking about their work on battlefield archaeology, recent findings and welfare support. Meanwhile, representatives from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission will tell you about their work honouring and caring for the fallen of the two World Wars.
Meet the engagement teams from the Household Cavalry and the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery to find out what it’s like to be a soldier in the British Army.
History Street is free to visit and you can drop in throughout the weekend.
