The event
Established in 1891, the Chelsea Arts Club has occupied the same house in Old Church Street since 1902. As well as painters, sculptors, designers, photographers and architects, its members include filmmakers, poets, writers, dancers, actors and musicians.
Join Geoffrey Matthews, Secretary and CEO of the Chelsea Arts Club, as he tells the remarkable story of how the Club came to be founded during the Belle Epoque and of how it has maintained its famous Bohemian character over the years.
He will describe the famous Chelsea Arts Balls and will bring to life the characters of many of the artist members who have made the Club what it remains to this day – a haven for the creative of spirit and the young at heart.
